Day 15: Date Night Delay

This post comes the morning after day 15 due to spending time with my husband last night. We make it very important to spend time with each other, and with the approaching busy days, we won’t have time alone together again until Sunday.

So here’s yesterday’s recap, nothing all that exciting. Just getting myself back on track and successfully avoided bread for two days in a row now. Sorry that the sound is so quiet. Didn’t want to wake my husband.


Day 9: The Day Job

Alright then. So the next 4 days (including today) will be different from the norm. As I’ve mentioned, I am an interior designer, and for the rest of the week, I am on the jobsite finishing up the install of our latest project. My typical tasks will include managing furniture and art install teams, while setting up model units and placing accessories.

You can imagine the trials of keeping to my commitments and routines that I faced and will face in the coming days. Still, its no excuse to keep to my routine of getting 7 hours of sleep and working out every day. Eating will be the biggest challenge. The second biggest will be motivating myself to workout when I will be on my feet all day and essentially “active.” Its not often though that I get access to free fitness center, so I intend to use it.

And while I skipped out on my workout today, according to the iPhone health app, I walked up 3 floors, took 9,753 steps, and walked 4.5 miles. Not bad right?!

Day 8: Live from Facebook!

Tonight I did a live video on Facebook, just to be real in the moment and change it up a bit.

After one week, I have lost 3lbs, slept 7 hours every night, drank over 100 oz of water, and exercised nearly every day in the past 2 weeks, missing only 2 days out of 14!

Day 7: Hiking with Hubby

We’ve had some crazy weather in TN lately. Last weekend, it was snowing. I mean, 2 inches near the city and 5 inches in the mountains. And this week, 60 degrees, sunny, and humid!

So my husband and I decided it was worth getting out of the house to avoid the typical cabin fever that tends to set in around this time of year and take our first hike of 2017.

Since the focus of my posts is weight management and fitness, I wanted to share some of the biggest things I noticed about today in doing something active on top of doing our regular morning workout.

  1. I felt initial burning soreness on the steepest parts of the trail. This made it hard to keep going as I feared I would injure myself. But as I payed closer attention, I realized I could feel that strength that I’ve been building ever so slightly in the past two weeks. As I pushed myself, the pain would fade and I’d soon find my stride.
  2. I’m feeling the difference, but its definitely still just internal right now. We of course took some pictures on our hike, and I felt myself slightly disappointed to see that I looked the same. But I remember it takes up to 3 weeks to start seeing a difference personally, and even longer for others to notice. I feel it though, and I know the changes are happening!
