Day 11: Another Long Day

Thursday’s comical start involved finding out my car was not down for the count but just in Reverse, which is why it wouldn’t start back up. I laughed even harder that morning! To my defence, the readout for what gear it’s in is broken. I’m not a complete idiot.

Outside of that it was another long but progressive day. Smoothie King is my new obsession and Panera Rapid pick up is super handy!

Here’s today’s video!

Day 10: When the Car Broke Down

Today was a day. A very long day. Highly comical if you have the right attitude, and very tiring all the same. Here’s some of the highlights:

  • Unloading 80 dining room chairs off a truck bed in the morning. Yes 80. GREAT WORKOUT!
  • Detailing and explaining all the issues we’ve had with this company I hired. They were very gracious and eager to make things right.
  • Multiple scrapes to my hands. So glad I have Lavender lotion with me!!
  • Car dies. Needs new starter. I am within walking distance of both my hotel and a service center and I have Triple AAA!

See what I did there? Gratitude! I could have been the most stressed-out and frustrated person today, but I chose not to. God gave me a heart of gratitude and focus, allowing me to move forward, laugh it off, and find solutions. I am SO grateful for this change in me that He has been developing over the past 6 months-1 year.

I loved this day!

Day 9: The Day Job

Alright then. So the next 4 days (including today) will be different from the norm. As I’ve mentioned, I am an interior designer, and for the rest of the week, I am on the jobsite finishing up the install of our latest project. My typical tasks will include managing furniture and art install teams, while setting up model units and placing accessories.

You can imagine the trials of keeping to my commitments and routines that I faced and will face in the coming days. Still, its no excuse to keep to my routine of getting 7 hours of sleep and working out every day. Eating will be the biggest challenge. The second biggest will be motivating myself to workout when I will be on my feet all day and essentially “active.” Its not often though that I get access to free fitness center, so I intend to use it.

And while I skipped out on my workout today, according to the iPhone health app, I walked up 3 floors, took 9,753 steps, and walked 4.5 miles. Not bad right?!

Here’s a little more detail about my day. Enjoy!

Day 8: Live from Facebook!

Tonight I did a live video on Facebook, just to be real in the moment and change it up a bit.

After one week, I have lost 3lbs, slept 7 hours every night, drank over 100 oz of water, and exercised nearly every day in the past 2 weeks, missing only 2 days out of 14!

Here’s the recap! Enjoy! And if you’d like to follow me on Facebook, click here.

Day 7: Hiking with Hubby

We’ve had some crazy weather in TN lately. Last weekend, it was snowing. I mean, 2 inches near the city and 5 inches in the mountains. And this week, 60 degrees, sunny, and humid!

So my husband and I decided it was worth getting out of the house to avoid the typical cabin fever that tends to set in around this time of year and take our first hike of 2017.

Since the focus of my posts is weight management and fitness, I wanted to share some of the biggest things I noticed about today in doing something active on top of doing our regular morning workout.

  1. I felt initial burning soreness on the steepest parts of the trail. This made it hard to keep going as I feared I would injure myself. But as I payed closer attention, I realized I could feel that strength that I’ve been building ever so slightly in the past two weeks. As I pushed myself, the pain would fade and I’d soon find my stride.
  2. I’m feeling the difference, but its definitely still just internal right now. We of course took some pictures on our hike, and I felt myself slightly disappointed to see that I looked the same. But I remember it takes up to 3 weeks to start seeing a difference personally, and even longer for others to notice. I feel it though, and I know the changes are happening!

Bottom Line…………..KEEP GOING!

Here’s today’s video taken right at the heart of the falls! Enjoy! Oh and special guest appearance…my man!

Day 5: Rough Day

Two things to take away from today:

  1. One poor decision leads to greater difficulty making good decisions for the rest of the day.
  2. You are allowed to have bad days, but don’t let it be an excuse to give up

It was a rough day, oddly enough. I slept in and skipped my work out which made avoiding that cupcake that continues to taunt me at work even harder and nearly derailed me entirely. I managed to resist thankfully, but by the end of the day, my migraine prevented any other productive choices for the evening. I was missing my normal morning routine by the end of the day and vowed to return in the morning, even though I dreaded the workout. But I refuse to give up so easily and so early. I will continue!
